Preparing for Your Visit
Waxing Prep
- Hair Growth: Allow 2 weeks of hair growth before your first wax.
- Regular Appointments: Schedule appointments 4 weeks apart for regular waxers.
- Pain Management: If you are sensitive or nervous about waxing, you may take ibuprofen or Tylenol 20 minutes prior to your appointment.
- Inform Your Esthetician:
- If you are using any products that thin the skin (e.g., Retin-A, Salicylic Acid, Accutane)
- If you have specific allergies
- If you have had bad reactions during previous waxing
Waxing Post Care
- Initial Sensitivity: Sensitivity may occur for the first 24-48 hours. Avoid hot water and intense workouts during this time.
- Aftercare Products: Use an ingrown oil, scrub, or solution regularly, starting 72 hours post-wax.
- Skin Reactions: Other skin reactions are rare. If they occur, your esthetician will educate you on post-care and prevention.
Spray Tanning Prep
- Exfoliation: Exfoliate 24 hours before your spray tan.
- Hair Removal: Complete all hair removal processes the morning of your appointment (waxing and/or shaving).
- Clean Skin: Arrive with clean skin, free of lotions, oils, or deodorant.
- Clothing: Bring a change of dark, loose clothing to wear after your spray tan.
Spray Tan Post Care
- Bronzer: While your tan is developing, you will have a sticky bronzer on your skin that will wash off during your shower.
- Hydration: Use a hydrating lotion, oil, or butter daily to extend the life of your tan. Tan extenders with DHA ingredients can also be used.
- Water Exposure: Limit time spent in water, including pools, lakes, and oceans.
- Processing Time: Avoid contact with water while your tan is processing, including activities such as manicures/pedicures and washing dishes.
